December - Koraput

The municipality is producing compost by recycling the green wastes.

They send the compost to the agriculture department and they also sell them to local buyers who want to buy it. 

Hence, the people of Koraput are getting dual benefits from this recycling process.

Good news! A new recycling center has been built in Koraput.

We will update you in the coming weeks on how it works.

November - Koraput

The municipality has recently started the cleaning work at night with two separate groups of staff. One group goes to different streets and areas of the town in day time and another group at night.

It's going to be a great step towards cleanliness.

9. July  - Koraput

Koraput is not much affected by the pandemic. But India is going through a tough situation. But while the restrictions and fear persist, my cousin sister, who is doing her Master of Philosophy (In Social Studies) is interested in a case study of our project for her thesis. She is analyzing and trying to highlight the effects of our "Clean Koraput Project" to develop understanding about how people think and how systems work in Koraput.

14. April - Winterthur ZH

Wir sind nun gut 5 Monate wieder zuhause und wollen allen Interessierten einzelne Teile unseres Awareness Programms zur Verfügung stellen. Auf unserem YouTube Channel oder per Suchfeld "Clean Koraput Project" findest du alle Teile Health, Swiss System, How we clean und Different Types of Waste. Zusätzlich kannst du auch unser Theater schon anschauen, welches aber Teils noch auf Odiya gesprochen ist. Bald kommen die Untertitel noch dazu. 

Bei Fragen stehen wir gerne zu Verfügung.

31. March - Koraput

Life in Koraput is very silent these days. From the beginning of February people are cautious about the virus spread. On 22nd March there was the first National shutdown. 24th onwards a national Lockdown has confined us all to our houses which will last till 14th April and may be extended. At least the good news is the streets are clean because all the people are at home. 😄 But brave Municipality workers still clean the streets. 😷👍🏽👍🏽

9. March - Ratha Sharma Colony

Today we went to an area called Ratha Sharma Colony to see the progress of our cleaning work. We get good positive response from the people and found all the drains and streets clean. All the residents were using their dustbins properly and keep their houses clean..The drains are not cleaned regularly but comparing to how it was before, there's a significant change..

23. February - Koraput

The Municipality took a step to make the transport of garbage to the dump easier. From the highway to the dump, a brand new road is built. This street was very bad, muddy and dusty before. Thumbs up for all the effort they put for our common goal of a Clean Koraput.

11. February - Koraput

It's a new initiative by the municipality of Koraput to aware people with beautiful paintings on the road side walls.. It is very helpful for the village people to know about the importance of cleanliness in our surrounding..It's definitely a great step to make the people of koraput think about ecological preservation..

9.Februar - Skype

Heute haben Dinesh, Kamal, Natalie und ich telefoniert und das weitere Vorgehen in Koraput besprochen. Dinesh stellt nun ein Team von drei bis vier Leuten zusammen, das einmal pro Woche eine Kolonie und eine Schule besucht, Feedback einholt und wenn nötig Kontakt mit der Gemeinde aufnimmt und weitere Clean-ups durchführt. Zu Beginn jedes Monats gibt es ein Telefonat mit dem Vorstand und Dinesh, um einen Rückblick zu machen, den Plan für den kommenden Monat zu besprechen und Ideen auszutauschen.

10. Januar - Koraput

Anfang Januar wurde ein riesiges Plakat in Koraput an der Hauptstrasse aufgehängt. Wir freuen uns sehr darüber, denn es ist unser Plakat! Darauf steht "Ein sauberes Koraput ist in deinen Händen". Wir möchten die Bewohner Koraputs darauf hinweisen, dass eine saubere Stadt bei jedem einzelnen beginnt. Dieses Poster wird etwa ein Jahr dort hängen, vielleicht länger.

2. Januar - Winterthur & Koraput

Ende Dezember haben wir einen Rückblick und eine Rekapitulation gemacht und uns über das weitere Vorgehen beraten. Die Schlussfolgerungen und unsere Beobachtungen und Erfahrungen haben wir zusammengefasst und nun ein Dokument über 15 Seiten dem Municipality Officer zukommen lassen. Darin hielten wir unsere Beobachtungen und unsere Vorschläge für kurzfristige und langfristige Massnahmen fest, strukturiert nach Thema (Collection, Dumping, Burning etc.). Unterdessen ist Thierry fleissig das Filmmaterial am Schneiden, das sich über die ganze Projektdauer hinweg angesammelt hat.
